that's about it for multiplayer in Xenoblade Chronicles X. The Planets Guardian is a Global Nemesis mission in Xenoblade Chronicles X. Nemesis missions work in much the same way as Squad Missions you can recruit players to your match or just play with your AI, whatever works for you.Īnd. Since it's a global effort this task is a little more manageable (and successfully completed earlier, it seems with Telethia Plume) as the work can be spread out over each and every player and squad. Partial health bars are not taken into account though in regards to total RP reduction.Įach participant in Nemesis Events is rewarded parts at the end of it based on how much RP they managed to take off of the enemy. When you successfully take out an entire health bar, the target's RP will reduce by 1. If the target has 8000000 RP, they have 8 million health bars. The goal of Nemesis Events is to reduce the RP of the target to 0 in order to defeat it. This fluctuates but in my experience is anywhere for 60-150 tickets on successful completion. If you can complete all Squad Targets and complete all Squad Missions (Excluding Nemesis events) you will get a Ticket Bonus for completing the Squad Task. I’ve given it 18 so far, and I’m going to give it some more. Yesterday (1/9) was the first time one was defeated so it is unknown if it will reappear based on when it was defeated. If they are not defeated in the set time frame they escape and are not available for 2-3 days until they reappear. By playing with other players, you are rewarded more tickets than if you play by yourself. The huge new Wii U JRPG Xenoblade Chronicles X seems like it wants about 80 hours of my life. The 2 global nemesis are available for a set period of time to fight from the Network Console in your barracks. Up to four players can be in a group, and the goal is, naturally, to complete the objective together. By selecting Recruit Squad Members(?), you send an invitation to each member in your squad to join your mission. These missions are where the active multiplayer begins, although players can choose to play with their AI party if they so wish. Whenever a target is completed (Read: Monster type is killed, enough items are collected), a mission is unlocked in The Squad Missions menu in the Barracks.

While those icons are nice and uninformative, you can hold R + press L (or the other way around, I can't remember) to cycle through each target, which will tell you which enemies or collectibles you need to kill/collect. You have a limited amount of time to complete these tasks as you've likely already noticed. Squad Tasks are set periodically by the server.

These squads are intangible You can't see other players out and about on the lands of Mira, but they do have an effect on the world through being able to collectively complete Squad Tasks. Multiplayer in Xenoblade mostly takes a passive role, with 32 players being connected to a squad.
